Festivals & Events in Tinos
A calendar of moments—shared tables, local music, and nights that last a little longer.
Tradition in Every Season
Tinos celebrates in a way that feels real—rooted in faith, music, and community. From the main processions in Chora to village feasts where tables fill up, songs start, and the night carries on, the island’s rhythm is shared. Whenever you visit, there’s always a reason to step into it.
The island’s major feast days
Tinos’ most important celebrations revolve around the Panagia, the island’s protector. In Chora, key dates such as 30 January, 23 July (Saint Pelagia) and 15 August bring processions, candlelight, and a strong sense of shared memory. These are moments when the island feels at its most authentic—deeply rooted, collective, and quietly moving.
Village festivals
Throughout the year, almost every village on Tinos celebrates its patron saint with a local panigyri—simple, welcoming, and full of life. Near Aeolis, in Triantaros, the late-June celebrations of the Holy Apostles bring residents and visitors together for a day that blends tradition, music, and a shared sense of place. It’s the kind of gathering that feels genuine and rooted, where the island’s customs are lived rather than performed.
Festivals, music & local flavours
In summer, Tinos slips into an even more celebratory rhythm, with cultural events and festivals across the island. The Tinos Festival runs from mid-May through late September, bringing concerts, theatre, and exhibitions, while the International Literary Festival in late July adds a quieter, more reflective note. Towards the end of August, the island’s Jazz Festival rounds off the season with music-filled nights.
Out in the villages, smaller themed celebrations—like the Artichoke Festival in Komi or the Honey Festival in Kampos—pair local recipes and sweet treats with live music, offering a relaxed, delicious taste of Tinos at its most easy-going and authentic.
