Discover the Wines of Tinos

Our wine tasting experience begins, naturally, with our beloved island of Tinos. Although once considered a lesser-known wine region of Greece, the island has recently undergone a remarkable wine renaissance.

This revival is driven by the rediscovery of indigenous grape varieties such as Potamisi, Rozaki, and Koumariano, alongside the cultivation of well-known varieties including Assyrtiko, Malagousia, Mavrotragano, and Mavrothiriko.

A defining element of the Tinian vineyard is its unique terroir. The vineyards are located in rugged landscapes among granite formations, particularly around Volax and Falatados, with sandy soils and strong sea influence. These conditions give the wines a distinctive character, earning them increasing international recognition for their quality and identity.

Our Tinos wine selection includes three varieties of Malagousia and Assyrtiko, as well as a red wine from the Mavrotragano grape.

Malagousia is a dry white wine known for its vibrant aromas of apricot, peach, and green tea. The Assyrtiko of Tinos stands out for its pure fruit expression, lively yet balanced acidity, and its characteristic saline finish, reflecting the island’s unique landscape.

Mavrotragano produces full-bodied and complex red wines, with deep color and an aromatic profile featuring black cherry, wild cherry, cocoa, sweet spices, and subtle hints of rosemary.

The Vineyards of Santorini

The Santorini vineyard is shaped by a truly unique terroir and distinctive natural conditions. Its volcanic soil, porous and rich in ash and pumice stone, absorbs moisture effectively, while the island’s dry climate, rare rainfall, and abundant sunshine allow grapes to ripen perfectly.

These elements contribute to wines with rich body and vibrant acidity.

At our restaurant, we proudly offer a carefully curated collection of high-quality wines from Santorini, one of Greece’s most internationally recognized wine regions. The volcanic soil and mild climate give these wines a distinctive character with unique aromas and flavors rarely found elsewhere.

Popular grape varieties from Santorini include Assyrtiko, Aidani, Athiri, Mandilaria, and Mavrotragano. The famous dessert wine Vinsanto, produced from sun-dried Assyrtiko and Aidani grapes under the intense August sun, is renowned for its remarkable aromatic complexity and depth of flavor.
